CHINA: Shanghai-Beijing high speed train

Paul Simon says: "I'd expect the article on the high speed Shanghai-Beijing train to be in the German media; German taxpayers are paying for it!" What I saw was not an article, but a TV piece which did not mention financing. Since there has been an angry dispute in Germany about the financing of German high-speed trains, the German government has no interest in publicizing the financing of the Chinese line, about which I have no details. Germany, Japan and France are competing for the fast train market. Shall we Californians travel from San Francisco to Los Angeles in a German, Japanese or French train? It won't affect me since I have no reason to go to LA.
