DEMOCRACY: Re; Democratic Process
George Sassoon says: "I think it was Dr Johnson who said; "A man is never more harmlessly employed than when he is making money." What he meant by this was that an affluent person is not going to start revolutions or upset the status quo. If we ever have universal affluence, then maybe democracy might work".
Give firebrands a job and they usually join the establishment. While that is only part of the story, a country is which most people have decent jobs is unlikely to suffer revolutions. Unfortunately in many countries there are thousands of untrained, unemployed youths wandering around, often with guns.
