UK Defense Secretary Geoffrey Hoon
I said: "I listened to the parliamentary debate in which Defense Secretary Geoffrey Hoon covered the affair, and I found him convincing".John Heelan comments: "Congratulations, Ronald, you belong to a small select group. It seems that relatively few people in the UK believe Hoon (or "Buff" Hoon as his detractors call him).
nformed opinion suggests that it is not likely that he will survive in post following the report of the Hutton Inquiry into Kelly's death, his demise occurring not only as a scapegoat for Blair, but also because he has been proven to be "economical with the truth" as a witness to that Inquiry. No doubt he will suddenly need to "spend more time with his family".
RH:
I thank John for his compliment. I know nothing about Hoon's family. The atmosphere may be like that of parliament.Ronald Hilton - 08.17.03
