IRAQ: Just war or a Just War?

Former President Clinton argued that "a substantially unilateral attack on Iraq does not meet the standards of a just war". George Sassoon comments: "Public opinion in Britain holds that it is an unjust war if approved only by Messrs. Bush and Blair, but a just war if approved by some countries of the UN, countries which most of the British public have never heard of, let alone being able to find them on a map". RH:This raises a very important point. UN approval seems to be replacing the concept of just war. The vote can depend on extraneous considerations. Mexico, which has no direct involvement in the Middle East, tried to use its seat on the Security Council to score points on the issue of Mexican illegal immigrants in the US.
