More on Bilingual Education
One of the best things about teaching is that, after nearly half a century, students still remember one. Jaqui White and Marta Weeks lived in the Casa Espaņola I founded (and which the administration closed without a word to me). Some of that group met recently in Belize. First Jaqui, and now Marta have reported on that reunion:
"This is the first time I've said "hello" to you since you put me on your list (via Jaqui White's request). We had a great time in Belize, by the way, visiting with some classmates from Casa Espanola days. I'm writing now to tell you that Miami has pretty good bi-lingual education. When I can get the proper statistics on it, I'll send some more info on that."
My comment: I´m glad that something is working in Miami. We get nasty reports about the Cuban-dominated admistration of that city. Statistics may provide valuable evidence. In any case, we welcome Marta to our colloquia. I am delighted to hear from old-timers.
