John Paul Wonder: How Spanish Works
John Wonder has sent me a copy of his new book How Spanish Works (Rhodes-Fulbright Library, 2000, pp. 439). My complaint is that our universities are so structured that most people in the language field have little knowledge about the structure of foreign countries, wile those in the international field have no knowledge of the structure of foreign languages. John is an exception; he served for six years with the US Information Agency in Latin America. His new book will be rough going for most WAISers, but Norman Sacks (who has just moved to Pasadena) certainly would love it.
