Pundit

It is a basic WAIS rule to treat other WAISers with respect, despite differences of opinion. I received a message implying I was a "pundit", apparently used in a derogatory way. So I consulted the Oxford English Dictionary and found a very long article. Among the many examples quoted was "Pundits now resent the attempts to redress the balance in favour of the Moslems". This usage goes back to India. Since the person who called me a pundit is an admirer of Israel and seems to resent my attempt to explain the Moslem mentality, I now return the compliment and say "you pundit!".
