     Although damning the World Bank and the IMF is common, World Bank president James Wolfensen is, as a recent memo noted, a brilliant, enlightened speaker. At the recent Washington meeting, he and others stressed the importance of a free press. The World Bank finances the training of Third World journalists. Sasa Vucinic, director of the Media Loan Fund in Prague, told the meeting of the generous help given by George Soros.
