The Week

We have posted complaints about the behavior of American corporations and their techniques. The applies to publications which offer you a sample copy WITHOUT ANY OBLIGATION. A new international news publication The Week send out a mailing inviting us to receive three issues without any obligation. I signed up, but decided not to subscribe, one reason being that the type is so small I had difficulty reading it- I so informed them, but was dunned for payment. I wrote again, but this time I received a message saying that my case was being referred to a collection agency. I replied protesting that I had told them I did not want to subscribe. I have just received another notice saying that unless I paid within 7 days, I will be listed as a bad debt on my permanent record. This is clearly an attempt to scare people who do not wish to damage their credit record. This is blackmail, and I am referring the matter to my lawyer.

I am sending a copy of this to The Week.
