Re: drug prices (8.01.03)
Carmen Negr’n, who lives in Paris, says: "Pharmacists can not prescribe certain drugs in France. To be a pharmacist in France you have to study almost as many years of medicine as to become a doctor. However, prescriptions for strong medications can only be issued by a doctor and, in theory, the pharmacist cannot sell them without a prescription, all the more so if you want to be reimbursed byÊ Social Security (public health insurance)".RH:
This brings up another question: Who decides what medicines require a prescription? There must be a list of "strong medications". It must vary from country to country.Ronald Hilton - 8/10/03
