In our discussion about drugs, frequent refference was made to the huge profits enjoyed by pharmas. Pfitzer, the world's largest drug-maker, earned profits of nearly $2 billion in 1992. In the second quarter of 2003 it lost a surprising $3.6 billion. Does this indicate that the whole industry is losing its profitability?
