MEXICO: Marcos and the EZLN

Eliu Moab Sarabia asks:

"Since when does the EZLN want a Communist Revolution like Cuba's? What are the San Andres Larrainzar Agreements about then? I would recommend that you tune to to get a better understanding of the situation. To the best of my knowledge, the Mexican Army is not awaiting an order to attack neither the Policia Federal Preventiva, in fact they are protecting all the people who have joined the EZLN."

My reply: This is a very tricky question. What are the EZLN's real intentions? When Castro said History would justify him, he laid out a plan quite different from what he actually did. This is common in politics. We must read between the lines or lies. Who knows?
