Mexico and Central America

A regular feature of Mexican news is denunciation of the United States for its treatment of Mexican indocumentados, refusing them benefits, etc. The U.S. is depicted as a heartless, almost nazi country. At the same time it is expected to be generous with its aid.
Now the shoe is on the other foot. There was an outcry by Mexicans complaining about the help Mexico was giving to the Central American victims of Mitch (sounds like a Yanqui name!). The government answered that it was to ensure that there would not be a mass migration to Mexico. There was a report from the Rio Suchiate (the boundary between Mexico and Guatemala) reporting that fortunately there was no rush to enter Mexico. The next day there was another report saying there was.
