The Catholic Church and sex - Abortion

The sexual errant behavior of Catholic priests has received worldwide publicity. Another problem is abortion, In general, I agree with the Catholic Church that abortion is murder, but the Church is stonily inflexible. In Nicaragua a 9-year old girl was raped. The Catholic Church forbade her having an abortion. There was a public outcry, but the government refused to intervene, since, under the influence of the Church, Nicaraguan law permits abortion only when the mother's life is in danger, and doctors said it was not, possibly a rash diagnosis. Cuba invited the girl to go there, and the government gave permission, but the parents were frightened. The outcome is uncertain.
