Religion: Direct communication between God and man

Paul Simon says: "Tom Moore ought to research the basic American Protestant concept of "the priesthood of all believers", sounds exactly like the concept he seems to LIKE about Islam (direct communication between God and believer)". Indeed, that goes right back to Christ's words (Matthew 6:5): "When thou prayest, enter into thy room, and, when thou has shut thy door, pray to thy Father, who is in secret". This is from the New Scofield Bible. It lacks the sonorous quality of the King James' version, but that is appropriate to this passage.
