RUSSIA and the Mongols

From Moscow Cameron Sawyer comments on two postings 1) proposing a complete revision of world chronology and 2) claiming that the Mongols were really Russians. He says tersely: "II spoke earlier of the unusual tolerance in Russia for crackpots. No Mongol invasion? Give me a break!". There is no point in asking me, and I doubt if the Russians will give you a break. These are serious Russian scholars writing, some of them Academicians. To the Westerner such Russians seem slightly insane. Much of the tragedy of Russian history has been caused by odd ideologues. Will Westernization lead to their demise? Keep your eyes open.
