THE US: Elections

Miles Seeley writes: "Many of the political campaign ads I have seen recently, from both sides, are just as bad [as the Sugg article].. I wish I could hope that new regulations about soft money will make matters better, but I doubt it. The so-called "negative ads" are everywhere, and apparently just about all candidates are advised they must use them to win. A sad state of affairs". RH: This is certainly true in California. We are fed sound bites on TV, not thoughtful discussions. We must set a better model to the world.
