The US, Europe, "High Noon" and the Axis of Evil
Tim Brown says this about our discussion of the present situation, (I suppose the contemporary Mongols are the terrorists): "These comments remind me of a cartoon in the New Yorker many years ago. In the foreground of the cartoon, two peasants are running as hard as they can to escape Ghengis Khan's Mongols, depicted in the background as gleefully involved in raping, pillaging, and burning their way through the peasants' village. As they flee, one peasant turns to the other and says, "I'll say one thing for him. He has a coherent foreign policy!" [If anyone can find a copy of it for me, I'll be forever grateful.]"
