US: Middle Eastern policy

Tom Moore writes: "Rusty Bentley claims that we are in great danger from Iraq. I cannot see how. Iraq has no missiles that could reach American shores. It could provide chemical or biological weapons to terrorists, but so could North Korea, probably Pakistan, China and many other countries. There is no evidence that they are going to do so, especially since many of the terrorist groups hate secular Iraq and Saddam Hussein and might easily turn such weapons on them.

That does not mean that Israel cannot legitimately fear a nuclear armed Iraq. Such a state would neutralize Israel's nuclear weapons and thus make that state more vulnerable. But should we go to war with all that means to protect Israel, which has the strongest army in the area?"
