We posted a memo in which Tim Walch said that Washington wanted to have all the presidential libraries located there and would not provide funds for building such libraries elsewhere. In a talk to the National Press Club, Truman's daughter Margaret took up the question, and said that she and President Ford, with whom she discussed it, objected violently. I agree: the impulse in Washington is to centralize everything, and Truman's Democrats are worse than the Republicans.
