Presidents Jimmy Carter and Herbert Hoover

Commenting on the comparison between Presidents Hoover and Carter, Tim Walch says that, while this may be fair, he understands that President Carter does not like to be compared with Hoover. Why, I wonder? It may be that the name Hoover still has a very negative connotation in the minds of Americans. My guess, however, is that more important is the difficulty even Christian Americans have in speaking well of members of the other party. Christian charity has its limits in politics. We Mugwumps believe in Goodwill toward All Men, and that is how we celebrate Christmas, (See posting on Christmas).
