The US and Latin America

Paul Simon of the State Department has sent an irate message damning us for publishing a criticism of the Cuban- born Otto Reich, the Assistant Secretary of State designate for the Western Hemisphere, and of Ollie North, and he is not appeased by our publishing an even longer rebuttal. Both the anti and pro messages were well documented and worthy of consideration, and therefore of publication, following the WAIS policy. I occasionally receive messages from the right and the left angry that we have published pieces with which they disagree. I can only say: Calm down and learn to respect freedom of informed opinion, which is the basic rule of WAIS.
