WAIS Thanks Miles Seeley

WAIS thanks Miles Seeley for his contribution to its survival and development fund. His gift has a sentimental value, since it expresses a sincere interest in what we are doing.  Miles has a special place in WAIS, in which the confrontation between Republicans and Democrats and between Zionists and anti-Zionists is well represented. A moderate Iranian position is represented by Nushin Namazi, but the Arab viewpoint or viewpoints are barely represented.  Anti-Americanism is so vehement in the Arab world that a WAIS dialog would be difficult.  Hence the importance of Miles Seeley, who spent his career in the Arab world and can speak about it knowingly and sympathetically but also dispassionately.  That is why his postings are always most welcome.
