A moderator's problems

Regarding the problem of place names, John Wonder brings up a nasty problem of nationalism:

"I thoroughly agree. I find this rather capricious switching of names irritating. Do all of these countries think the whole world will switch because they take a notion to change names, just because they have a "feeling"about it? I still find Zimbabwe unnecessary. Do they possibly imagine that changing a name will change the reality?"
