St. Patrick's Day

Religion is the supreme attempt to understand what life is all about and therefore how we should behave. None has completed that mission, perhaps none ever will. Yet it is a travesty when religious holidays lose most of their significance. The worst example is St. Patrick's day, which is celebrated with parades and revelry in which all take part. The Catholic Church laments this, and I fully support them. On St.Patrick's day, go to church if you wish and think of that noble saint. Then celebrate quietly at home. And I am not a Catholic.
