UNITED STATES: JANE FONDA. IS THE USA ABOUT TO HONOR A TRAITOR?
Tim Brown took offense at something Randy Black wrote about Jane Fonda.
Randy expresses his respect for all WAISers and continues: The story of the “100 Women of the century” goes to 1999, not to anything in the recent past. The story about that so-called honor is half fact – half fiction. The story was actually: A Celebration: 100 Years of Great Women. My URL is clear on that matter. I am not in one tiny breath, supporting Jane Fonda’s politics. Either I did not express myself adequately, or I was misunderstood. While the woman is a fine actress, her politics definitely contributed to the ill-treatment of US soldiers and Marines. At the time, I thought she deserved to be tried for treason, but I was young and eventually on active duty in the Army, and, like President Bush, managed to serve stateside. My distant friend, US Congressman Sam Johnson of Plano, Texas once told me that he felt pretty much the same as I do about Fonda, to this day. And Sam spent seven years, I seem to recall, in a North Vietnamese prison.
