Language: Double Negatives
"I do not speak nor write", "I do not speak or write". Grammarians never slumber nor sleep. George Sassoon says: In Slav languages double or more negatives do not cancel out but reinforce each other! That's probably why Russians enjoy saying "no" - so many words starting with "nye-". In the above example in Serbian one would say "I neither speak nor write" using "ni ... ni ..."..
