IRAQ: Bombing of civilians
Christopher Jones writes: If I or my family had been bombed by a V-2, there would certainly be no love lost on Wernher von Braun. (I admit that the "I didn't know" line looks pretty tacky). But my comparison stands: what would an Iraqi father think of US "democracy" just after a bomb destroyed his home and possibly killed his children? Would he love the US military and the big weapons manufacturers? Would the people back in the States show remorse over bombing "a suspected terrorist hideout" which turned out to be a simple Iraqi home? Frankly they probabaly wouldn't even know that it happened. A note on von Braun: In the early 60s, he made a film with Walt Disney. The used animation to show a then projected moon landing and space station. Walt loved him.
